ऑक्टोबर मासी - पानगळ (Fall ) , Halloween आणि बरेच काही - मराठी - Living In America

ऑक्टोबर मासी , हर्ष मानसी , रंगीबेरंगी चोहीकडे 

ऑक्टोबर शी माझे नाते जिव्हाळ्याचे 

ऑक्टोबर महिना येतो आपल्या शरद ऋतुत, माझ्या वडिलांचे नाव शरद. आम्ही त्यांना दादा म्हणायचो , आमचेच काय आजूबाजूच्या सगळ्यांचेच ते दादा म्हणजे मोठ्या भावासारखे होते. 

दादां बरोबरची एक आठवण म्हणजे सहामाहीची परीक्षा संपली कि ऑक्टोबर मधे  त्यांच्या बरोबर सकाळचे फिरायला जाणे  आणि रत्नागिरीच्या निसर्गात रम्य होणे. 

ती सवय आज ही आहे आणि इथे शिकागो भागात तर ऑक्टोबर चा निसर्ग डोळ्यांना मेजवानीच असते. 

आजचा हा व्हिडिओ दादांच्या आठवणीत. 

ऑक्टोबर इथला Fall म्हणजे पानगळीचा season. जी पाने उन्हाळ्यात हिरवीगार असतात ती हिवाळ्याचा तयारीत लालचुटुक , केशरी , bright पिवळी दिसायला लागतात.  जसा निसर्गाचा फॅशन शो च चालू होतो. व्हिडिओ मध्ये आहेत अशी थोडी  सुंदर दृष्य . 

ऑक्टोबर महिना वाढदिवसांचा - माझ्या वाढदिवसाबरोबर , माझ्या प्रिय व्यक्ती माझी आई आणि माझा नवरा या दोघांचे शिवाय मित्र मैत्रिणी , सहकारी मिळून ऑक्टोबरच्या प्रत्येक दिवसासाठी कमीत कमी एक जन्मदिवस आणि अधून मधून लग्नाचे वाढदिवस आहेत म्हणून ऑक्टोबर होतो वाढदिवसाचा महिना.  या वर्षी virtual celebration झाले. त्यातले काही special पदार्थ व्हिडिओ मधे दाखवले आहेत. 

ऑक्टोबर महिना सणासुदीचा - आपले सण नवरात्री , दसरा , कोजागिरी आत्ताच येऊन गेले. आज ३१ ऑक्टोबर ला असतो इथला सण Halloween. 

हॉलोवीन ची तुलना आपण पितृपक्षाशी करू शकतो. पीक येऊन थोडी मुबलकता आलेली असते अशावेळी आपल्या जवळची व्यक्ती जी आपल्यात नाही तिची आठवण येणे स्वाभाविक आहे तर या दिवशी वारलेल्या लोकांची आठवण काढायची प्रथा आहे. 

या मागे विश्वास होता कि या दिवशी या आणि परलोकातील पडदा विरळ होतो आणि आत्मा सहज प्रवास करून घरच्यांना भेटायला येऊ शकतो. 

त्यामुळे पितृ पक्षात जशी घास ठेवायची पद्धत आहे तसे पूर्वीचे लोक आपल्या प्रिय लोकांच्या आत्म्याचे स्वागत करण्यासाठी , जेवण्याच्या टेबलावर किंवा शेकोटी पाशी जागा राखून ठेवत. 

अधुनिक जगात हॉलोवीन च्या activities असतात  Trick Or Treating , Costume parties , भोपळ्यावर कोरीव काम , घराभोवती डेकोरेशन्स , Horror गोष्टी सांगणे वगैरे वगैरे.. 

या वर्षी आमच्या कडून ट्रीट होती , एक एक छोटा Pringles चा डब्बा आणि M & M chocoloate चे पाकीट . COVID मुळे  किती मुले येतील याचा अंदाज नव्हता पण प्रतिसाद चांगला मिळाला. आमच्या दारी शंभराहून जास्त मुले मास्क सकट costume घालून Trick Or Treat साठी आली

Comparison in the video is between this and Halloween as I think both of them are based on the same concept.

 Both fall around end of the harvest season. Due to Harvest there is some prosperity and its quite natural to remember the closed ones that have been lost at this time.

Both Pitru Paksha and Halloween are days set to remember who have been passed away.

In Pitru Paksha its believed morsel kept aside during “Shradha” in the name of the loved ones will reach them in Other world.

 Halloween is on the belief that the boundary between this world and the Otherworld is thinned on this day so Spirits could more easily come into this world.

 The souls of the dead were also said to revisit their homes seeking hospitality, places were set at the dinner table and by the fire to welcome them.

ब्रेड करायचे मशीन - मराठी - Bread Machine-Automation in America(Marathi)

 ब्रेड करणे काही कठीण नाही पण  त्याची प्रक्रीया  थोडी लांबलचक आणि  वेळ खाऊ असते . तिथे माझे अमेरिकेतले ब्रेड करायचे मशीन कामाला येते.  तुमची जबादारी फक्त साहित्य घालायचे आणि चालू करायचे बाकी सगळे  ब्रेड मशीन करते आणि  आपोआप ताजा ब्रेड तयार मिळतो. 

अशा ऑटोमेशन मुळे  अमेरिकेतली  बरीच कामे खुप सोपी होते आणि राहणीमान सुलभ होते. 

Making bread is simple but lengthy process, in this video I show how using bread machine makes it simple as all you need to do is add all the ingredients and start. The machine does everything and gives you fresh homemade bread.

These kind of automations in daily life make living in America easy and convenient.

रेसिपी जरी ब्रेड मशिन साठी असली तरी ब्रेड मशिन शिवाय पण करता येते

मध्यम मापाच्या ब्रेड चे मी जे विडिओ मध्ये वापरले आहे  ते साहित्यचे प्रमाण खाली आहे.  

Measurements of ingredients used in this video are as below

• 1 1/8 cups water, room temp. 
• 2 tbsp + 1 tsp. unsalted butter, room temp. cut into 1/2" pieces 
• 2 1/4 tsp granulated sugar (or honey )
• 1 1/8 tsp salt 
• 3 cups bread flour 
• 3 tbsp non-fat dry milk 
• 1 1/2 tsp yeast, active dry, instant or bread machine

ब्रेड पीठा ऐवजी मैदा वापरू शकतो , त्याकरता थोडे पाण्या ऐवजी दूध किंवा एखाद तबसप जास्त दुधाची पावडर खालून प्रोटीन वाढवू शकता
